Bob is the corporate president of Faulkner and Thompson, P.A. and partner in charge of the firm's audit, assurance and consulting services. He also heads up the firm's forensic and involvency accounting services, litigation support services and business valuation practice. He assists our clients with audit, review and compilation engagements, insolvency accounting, forensic accounting, litigation support, acquisitions and divestitures, business valuations, strategic and corporate tax planning, budgeting and forecasting. 
Bob is licensed to practice in the States of North Carolina and South Carolina. He has over 30 years of auditing and accounting experience serving businesses in both the public and private sectors. His experience covers a wide variety of manufacturing, distribution and service industries and governmental and nonprofit entities.

Bob is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) through the AICPA. He is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. His experience providing forensic and investigatory services covers a variety of service areas including computer forensic analysis, fraud prevention, fraud detection and response, financial statement misrepresentation, employee dishonesty, identification of fraudulent conveyance and asset recovery.
Bob has extensive experience with bankruptcy and insolvency accounting. He has also worked with troubled businesses outside of bankruptcy. In 2000, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors announced Bob's certification as a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). He regularly assists U.S. Panel Trustees and attorneys within the North Carolina and South Carolina Bankruptcy Courts. His professional experience in this area covers a variety of issues including, but not limited to, corporate restructuring and reorganization, asset recovery, forensic accounting, liquidation analysis, tax related issues in bankruptcy and fraudulent conveyances. He has also served as an examiner in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Bob has been providing business valuation services for more than seventeen years. In 1995, he received the AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement recognizing his ongoing educational efforts in the field of business valuations. In 2001, Bob became Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) through the AICPA. He has performed a broad range of valuations including the following types: gift tax appraisals, estate tax appraisals, business and stock valuations, litigation support appraisals, liquidation analysis, merger and acquisition appraisals, marital dissolution appraisals and appraisal reviews.
Bob has been qualified as an expert in the fields of accounting and business valuation and has provided testimony in both North Carolina and South Carolina courts. He has assisted in commercial and divorce cases, as well as lost earnings and lost profit cases. His experience providing litigation services includes accounting and auditing, forensic accounting, bankruptcy and insolvency accounting, business valuation and other litigation support.
